Brant Richards is the managing director of Genesis of Things Project, an innogy Innovation Hub venture. The Genesis of Things Project has developed a shared, secured platform for denctralized digital manufactured enabled by blockchain and chip cryptography. This platform allows for the automated, secured management of manufacturing supply chain workflows including 3D file storage and transfer, decentralized production via a global network of 3D printers, logistics, payment, and product lifecycle tracking.
Before his work with innogy, Mr. Richards was a member of the founding team of Younicos AG, a global leader in intelligent energy storage and smart grid software solutions, where he managed the company’s business development, sales and marketing activities and was a member of the company’s executive management board.
Prior to Younicos AG, he was Director, Energy Storage & Solar Transportation, at I-Sol Ventures, a Berlin based venture capital fund with an investment focus on cutting-edge clean tech and renewable energy innovations.
Earlier in his career, he held various roles in marketing, operations, and P&L management for Fortune 100 companies in North and South America; developed internet tech products during the first dotcom boom of the 1990s; and owned and operated a real estate development firm and a contemporary art gallery.
Mr. Richards holds a B.S. from Stanford University and an MBA from IMD.
