José is a Chilean veterinarian, with a PhD in Animal Sciences from Lincoln University in New Zealand. He specialises in ruminant physiology and has many years of experience in animal nutrition, farm management, and statistics. He lived and worked in New Zealand for more than 10 years before joining GEA in January 2011. He is author of several patents and applications on precision livestock farming technologies and provide advice on the development and evaluation of new technologies to improve the efficiency of conventional and automatic dairy farms.
His latest work on rumen fermentation provides new insights on ruminant physiology and nutrition with wider implications for monitoring animal health on farm.
